New Rider Training [M1]

As an SGI-approved Motorcycle Training program, this course is perfect for those seeking a motorcycle learner’s/Class 6 endorsement, and teaches riders to ride safely and confidently in traffic. Successful completion results in electronic accreditation linked to the rider’s SGI customer number, plus a physical certificate. Training includes a required live online classroom session (Zoom) and two full days of practical, on-the-track instruction.

Course components

• Online classroom (Zoom) — attendance required
  Live session via Zoom (app required; no account needed). Students may share a device.
• Practical on-the-track training
  Two days of on-course instruction at Town ‘n’ Country Mall parking lot (Moose Jaw). Break provided midday; food options and washrooms nearby. Water and seating provided.

Motorcycle requirements and rentals

• Students may rent a training motorcycle or bring their own street-legal motorcycle (must be road-compliant and licensable through SGI).
• Training motorcycles are provided only to students who register with a motorcycle rental.
• Our rental fleet is subject to availability, and a motorcycle cannot be guaranteed unless a rental is reserved at registration.

Protective equipment (required)

Riders must bring all SGI-required gear. The school does not supply helmets, gloves, boots, jackets, or eye protection.

• Approved helmet (¾, modular, or full-face) with ANSI/BSI/CSA/DOT/Snell/ECE certification
• Gloves (full-finger)
• Boots (cover the ankle)
• Arm and leg coverings (riding jacket advised)
• Eye protection (glasses or sunglasses that fit under your helmet)

Dress for the weather; training typically runs rain or shine.

Cancellation/Refund Policy

Requests for an alternate course date/cancellations received 16 or more days prior to original registered course start date will be subject to a $50 per person administration fee. Requests received within 15 days prior to the course start date will be subject to a $100 per person surcharge, providing accommodations can be made. If no accommodation can be made, for cancellations less than 16 days prior to course start date or for no-shows, there will be no refund. We reserve the right to reschedule or cancel courses due to unforeseen circumstances.
